Interview with Victor Ramirez, Sustainability Manager at AVANTRA

We spoke with Victor Ramirez, an architect from the University of Guadalajara and our collaborator for more than six years. He complemented his professional experience with training in the application of sustainability design standards, which has allowed him to become our Sustainability Manager and to advise on ecological projects built by AVANTRA and other of our clients.

What have been the most important challenges in your professional life?

The biggest challenge for me has been to effectively convey to the design and construction teams the value and desirability of sustainable strategies and good design and construction practices.

What projects or plans do you have for the future?

I would like to generate, at some point, useful content or bibliography for the recovery of our cities, from an environmental point of view; allocating areas of the city for building rainwater collection systems, recycling centers, food production, and other services that we need to have closer to the citizens.

Can you share a tip, habit, or advice that you follow in your professional life?

I like to think that each day is new and displaces any frustrations or problems that may have happened the day before. This allows me to start each day anew, with new energy and joy. Also, and mainly, I try to offer my daily work to God, to please Him, and thank Him that I have a job.
