Sebastian Aliseda, Junior Documenter at AVANTRA® tells us all about it!

He studied Civil Engineering at the University of Guadalajara. His professional path began in a small construction company where he worked while studying because he believed that putting into practice what he learned in class was the best way to gather experience. Two years later, his personal challenges forced him to look for something bigger and so he took the opportunity to join AVANTRA®, where today and after having demonstrated his capabilities, he is in the area of sustainability and also achieved his first LEED Green Associate accreditation.

  • What have been the most important challenges in your professional life?

Getting out of my comfort zone! I have been presented with some opportunities in life that I knew I had to take advantage of, as I am currently in a stage of growth and in which I can gain as much knowledge as possible. One of the most important challenges was obtaining LEED accreditation since the study and exams were in English, a language different from my native tongue.

  • What projects or plans do you have for the future?

My next project and plans are to get another LEED accreditation, for which I am already preparing, as I am looking to expand my resume in the field of certifications. I am also getting even deeper into the Flor de Piedra (Stone Flower) project that is being developed in AVANTRA®, which has been a great challenge. Collaborating in this project has helped me and I am confident that it will continue to help me grow professionally. I am excited to face the challenges that will undoubtedly arise.

  • Can you share a tip, habit, or advice that you follow in your professional life?

Never give up, always be optimistic and work for your dreams and goals. Along the way, you may encounter obstacles that will prevent you from achieving them or even force you to change your course, but it is up to you to overcome them and face them, often with the support of your family, colleagues, and friends. Never deviate and always keep your goals clear until you reach them.
